Floods 2023

During the night of 4.8.2023, the Savinja Valley and a large part of Slovenia were hit by a massive flood. Many people lost their lives, their property and everything they had worked for all their lives. Our campsite, located on the banks of the Savinja River, was also affected by the floods, but with all the losses other people have suffered, we feel lucky that the damage is much less than it could have been. We are receiving positive messages by SMS and e-mail from our guests wishing us a speedy recovery. We are lucky that so many people have felt so comfortable with us during their time at the camp.

We would like to thank all the guests who, despite the terrible night when people were evacuated from the campsite in the middle of the night, insisted on paying for their accommodation and thus helping us to rebuild the campsite. Thank you to all the civil protection officers, firefighters, accommodation providers and volunteers who welcomed our guests at the school and looked after them until they were able to make their way out of the valley to safer places.

We hope you will come back in the years to come. We will restore the campsite as soon as we can and make it even better for you.
